Projects

To address the crisis caused by the indefinite shutdown of the George F. Haines International Swim Center (ISC) in Santa Clara, we propose an urgent, a short-term, and a long-term project with emphasis on more immediate solutions to provide training needs for the community. Please join us and pledge to support your community.

01: Urgent Needs

Water & Diving Board

Santa Clara Artistic Swimming (Aquamaids), due to the ISC shutdown, is incurring monthly expenses that are unsustainable. The club is currently exceeding their monthly budget by $40,000 to secure water space that meets specific depth and temperature requirements — the club needs the equivalent of a 30 meter by 25 meter pool that is at least 10 feet deep and heated to 81°F to 83°F. Your pledge of support today will directly contribute to sustaining this team, which boasts three alumni swimmers and the club’s head coach (Bill May) competing in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Santa Clara Diving urgently needs a 3-meter diving board, which carries a price tag of up to $30,000. Your donation is crucial to help us acquire this equipment. Please pledge your support today.

02: Shorter-term Project

Above Ground 50m Pool

An above ground portable pool can be a game-changer for Santa Clara's aquatic community! In response to the urgent need for adequate training facilities until the International Swim Center undergoes renovation, we propose the installation of one state-of-the-art Myrtha pool.

These above-ground wonders offer unparalleled flexibility and efficiency. They can be set up on any flat surface and assembled in just one week, providing a swift and effective solution to the current swimming pool crisis faced by Santa Clara Diving, Santa Clara Artistic Swimming, and Santa Clara Swim Club.

Equipped with the latest in pool technology, these temporary structures ensure that athletes can continue their rigorous training regimes without interruption. The pools are designed to meet the highest standards of safety and performance, offering a reliable and conducive environment for honing skills and achieving peak performance.

The cost of an above ground Myrtha pool is $6 million including necessary equipment and deck, and the time from purchase to installation ranges from 1 to 6 months. With your support, we can make this vision a reality.

Please join us and pledge to support this project.

03: Longer-term Project

New Swim Center

We urgently need a permanent home for Santa Clara Swim Club, Santa Clara Diving Club, and Santa Clara Artistic Swimming to ensure the legacy of these three outstanding non-profit organizations. Rebuilding the George F. Haines International Swim Center is estimated to take 3-4 years for design and construction.

By first purchasing the above-ground pool, as described above, we can repurpose it subsequently for use in this project, ensuring a sustainable and strategic approach to rebuilding the ISC. We expect to work with the City of Santa Clara and private donors to bring this vision to life. Stay tuned for further updates as we finalize the details.

Join us to build the new ISC!
